Thank you for using our restaurant guide to Yorkshire.

North Yorkshire offers some of the most diverse dining options in the UK including Thai, Japanese and Caribbean food; country pubs are also hugely popular in the region. In addition, many restaurants in the area are serving the freshest local produce around. Enjoy traditional British tearooms in Harrogate or chic city centre dining in York. As a European tourist hotspot, York is thriving with places to eat and drink. By day, fall in love with the ‘pavement café culture’ in this romantic city. By night, take advantage of the stylish bars and restaurants that line the ancient streets. If you’re visiting anywhere on the North Yorkshire coastline, fish and chips are a must. Whitby is probably the best in the area for this delicacy with The Magpie Café serving fish, chips and other seafood to eat in or take away. Don’t be put off by the queues; they are there for a reason! The Magpie Café is undoubtedly one of the best of its kind in the country.

Every May, North Yorkshire sees the annual Malton Food Lovers Festival with cookery demos; a master class marquee; street food stalls and even a slow waiter race! This two-day event is sure to keep the whole family entertained for the weekend. Special guests include celebrity chefs such as Rosemary Shrager and Matthew Fort as well as some of the regions own chefs from high-class establishments such as Rudding Park. This years event takes place on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th May.

There is also the Tastes of Yorkshire Festival held at Ripon Racecourse, where everything from gourmet markets to children’s workshops will you keep you and your family busy for the day.The festival this year will take place on Saturday 16th June.
